Robert’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA

I teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA classes in the Lakeview and Fort Oglethorpe areas of north Georgia, just south of Chattanooga, TN. My emphasis is primarily on grappling technique, as this is where most of my experience lies. My background is primarily no-gi Jiu-Jitsu and submission wrestling, although I have also trained Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the gi, as well as some Aikido and a little Muay Thai, which I incorporate into my teaching.

Classes are intended for a diverse group of students, whether you are interested in training for self-defense, sport, or fun and fitness, it’s all here. I also currently teach teens, pre-teens, and adults together. However, I may split up separate age groups if there is enough interest. It is always helpful, particularly for younger students, if you can arrange to have a friend close to the same size come with you to ensure you will have a partner you can train with more easily.

My classes are primarily targeted toward beginner and intermediate students, as well as those from other arts who wish to incorporate Jiu-Jitsu grappling techniques into their style. I do not have an official belt, although I have competed in several tournaments and taken first place at a blue belt level and fought and won an amateur MMA fight. I do not issue belts, but teach skills in a somewhat less formal setting, while still incorporating aspects of respect and discipline.
